Busy as a "b"

I'm playing a show in Manhattan on Thursday March 30th and while randomply typing an invite the following words came out - I'm not sure where the inspiration came from - maybe the pressures of trying to remember to send ou t the invites on time...?

In any case I decided to post it as a blog - so here it is:

----------

The Busy Show.

I'm busy. Busy busy busy. But not too busy to come out and play a show on a fine pre-spring Thursday night. Are you busy? The weird thing about busy is not so much the concept as the word itself. It looks weird. It's got a z sound with the z nowhere to be found. It's short and to the point but it doesn't really sound like a busy word if you know what I mean. It kind of sounds "easy". "Busy", "easy", they sound like similar words though they often do not go together. Even "relaxed" sounds more complicated than "busy". "Complicated" - now there's a word that deserves its meaning! It's got four seemingly unrelated syllables including a freebie (comp), what you do to an ice cream cone (lick), and two random names (Kate and Ted) thrown in for good measure. But the thing that makes it really complicated is the use of the hard "c"! We should totally do away with that don't you think?
